Recommenders

Thank you for supporting a student applying to the Governor's School for Entrepreneurs (GSE) Summer Startup Program.

How It Works

  1. An applicant asks you to be a Recommender. Before adding your information to their application, students are asked to confirm that you are willing to complete a recommendation.
  2. Watch for an email from [email protected]. Once the student enters your information into their application, you'll receive an automated email with a unique link to their recommendation form.
  3. Complete the recommendation form. The form takes approximately 20–30 minutes to complete and asks about the student's character, work ethic, leadership potential, problem-solving skills, and readiness for an intensive summer program.
  4. Submit by February 8, 2027. You may complete and submit your recommendation as soon as you receive the email. Students do not need to submit their application before you submit your recommendation.

Who Can Serve as a Recommender?

Students must submit two recommendations. Recommenders may include:

  • Teachers
  • School counselors
  • Coaches
  • Employers or supervisors
  • Mentors
  • Community leaders
  • Customers or clients (for students who operate a business)
