2013 Program Report

The Inaugural Year of GSE!

In 2012, KSTC introduced the Kentucky Science and Innovation Strategy containing GSE as an action item for transformation talent development. Later that year in December, Governor Steve Beshear holds a press conference to announce the Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs. In June of 2013, the first session of GSE is held at Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. 49 young entrepreneurs in 12 distinct teams developed creative ideas into distinct and feasible business models.

GSE aspiring entrepreneurs heard from seasoned entrepreneurs at every stage of developing their business, from Babylocity founder, LaShana Harris, former Governor Martha Layne Collins, and Governor Steve Beshear, to pizza luminary, John Schnatter.
